Every picture that is sold on our platform protects a piece of rainforest through a donation to RAINFOREST TRUST.

Rainforest Trust has has been protecting the most biodiverse places on earth for over 33 years, and is widely regarded as one of the most important organisations with this goal. It costs them on average 2 US dollars to protect an acre of rainforest. We use that figure to calculate the amount of forest a particular picture on our website wil protect.
Originals protect 1 million times their surface area
Each original sold on Paint for Planet will protect an area of rainforest that is one million times its own surface area. That means every square meter becomes a square kilometer.

In this starting phase of our organisation, for every print and limited edition print, HALF of the net-revenue is donated to Rainforest trust. The rest of the revenue goes to the artists and growing our organisation, making sure we can keep doing this. That way, we can go on protecting more and more!

Some of the features of this platform are intended to spread the word and recruit as many people to the cause as possible. Take the chain saw reactions for instance. These work as follows:
Give one to someone. Instruct them that they are urged to give another one to someone else, with the same instruction. Get one, give one, get one, give one. The initiator can save much more rainforest than in a conventional manner. And everybody but the initiator breaks even, but the rainforest wins big!
